Fiprocat 50mg is a treatment of infestations by studs (Ctenocephalides spp.).
Insecticidal efficacy prevents any new infestation by fleas for 4 weeks.

The drug can be integrated into a treatment program for Dermatitis by Flea Bite Allergy (DAPP), when this diagnosis has been made by a veterinarian.

Although an immediate acaricidal efficacy has not been demonstrated for this product, an activity acaricide persistent for up to one week has been demonstrated against ticks Ixodes ricinus.

If Ixodes ricinus ticks are already present when the medicine is applied, all ticks may not be killed in the first 48 hours but they may be killed within a week.

How to use

Route of administration and dosage

For local application to the skin only. For external use only.

A 0,5 mL pipette allows the treatment of a cat, which corresponds to a minimum recommended dose of 5 mg of fipronil per kg of body weight.

The minimum interval between two applications should not be less than 4 weeks.

HOW TO USE

Detach one of the blisters from the blister pack. This helps prevent accidental opening of the rest of the blister pack, which protects pipettes that are still unopened from moisture. Open the cell with scissors. To avoid damaging the pipette, cut along the line marked with a pair of scissors. Carefully remove the aluminum foil from the cut end and take out the pipette.
Hold the pipette vertically. Tap the pipette lightly to lower all liquid content into the body of the pipette. Fold the part above the pipette backwards. The pipette can now be tilted, if necessary. To open the pipette, break its tip by bending it sharply at the level of the pre-cut line.

Part the hair between the shoulder blades so that the skin is visible. Place the pipette tip on the skin and squeeze the pipette several times to completely empty its contents directly onto the skin and at a single point.

Applying the solution near the base of the head reduces the risk of the animal licking the solution. Make sure that the animals do not lick each other after treatment.

Be careful to avoid overwetting the coat with the product, as this will result in a sticky hairy appearance on the treated area. If this were the case, however, this appearance would disappear within 24 hours of application.
