  • Active ingredient: Thymol 15g
  • Excipients: Cellulose sponge

How to use

  • After the honey harvest, it is advisable to feed the colony.
  • Then place the 3 half-platelets of Thymovar® directly on the frames, respecting a distance of 4 cm from the brood and respecting the recommendations according to the type of hive.
  • Leave a 5mm gap above the pads.
  • After 3 – 4 weeks, remove the platelets and feed the colony again.
  • Make a second application of 3 half strips for 3 to 4 weeks.
  • The recommended operating temperatures are outside temperatures of 20 – 25°C.
  • Do not apply when maximum daily temperatures are above 30°C.
  • The application of Thymovar is always carried out in summer after honey flow by a moderate infestation (less than 5 fatal falls of Varroa per day).
  • Product shelf life: 4 years
  • After opening the primary packaging: all the blisters contained in the sachet must be used immediately and cannot be stored any longer.

Precautions for use

Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. Indeed, there is a risk of contact dermatitis or irritation of the skin or eyes.
In the event of skin contact, wash affected area thoroughly with soap and water. In case of eye contact, flush eyes with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

The beekeeper must wear the appropriate PPE when handling the product: overalls, mask, protective goggles and chemical resistant protective gloves.

Do not treat during honey flow to avoid altering the flavor of the honey.

Thymovar is a veterinary medicinal product indicated for the treatment of varroosis of bees (Apis mellifera) caused by Varroa destructor. To be applied with adequate personal protective equipment.     I just put the plates in my hives.
    The method is very well explained, but what would be practical is to know the number of platelets in each pack to anticipate the number of packs needed according to the number of hives. Please fill in this data.
