Glucosamine sulfate is the essential precursor of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) in the body. Indeed, it is the one and only precursor of hyaluronic acid, chondroitins and many proteoglycans, the syntheses of which it stimulates. More than 90% absorbed by the digestive tract, it is preferentially concentrated in the joints where it exerts an anticatabolic action. It seems established that glucosamine sulfate inhibits the expression of a certain number of pro-inflammatory cytokines or molecules known for their catabolic action in cartilage (Cox-2, iNOS, MMP-3, TNFα, IL-6, IL-1).

Due to a different mechanism of action, the combination with NSAIDs makes it possible to reduce the quantity of these with the same effectiveness and to reduce the side effects of NSAIDs on the stomach lining. Harpagophytum and meadowsweet accelerate the recovery of joint mobility.
