In bees: Treatment of varroasis due to Varroa destructor sensitive to thymol – 10 trays of 50 g of gel
Apiguard should be used as one treatment among others in a program of Integrated control against varroosis. The fall of varroa mites must be monitored regularly. If the fall of varroa mites is significant during the winter or the following spring, it is recommended to use another varroa treatment in winter or spring.
The effectiveness product is optimized if the product is used at the end of summer after honey harvest i.e. when the amount of brood decreases.
It is not necessary do not use this product during honey flow
If the hives are heavily infected, first drip with oxalic acid with theApibioxal ou Oxybee. This treatment will only eliminate “phoretic varroa mites” and not varroa mites in the closed brood! However, this helps to reduce varroa pressure.
Then do a treatment with Apiguard 1 tray 2 x 2 weeks then at the end of December for example make another drip with Apibioxal, Varromed ou Oxybee if possible without brood.
WARNING, for products Oxybee and Apiguard it is necessary to be very careful with the temperatures, to read well the leaflet of the drug for an optimal use. Bees do not like the smell of Thymol and essential oils, so be careful with the heat, the product should not evaporate too quickly.
If the hives are moderately infected and if the temperatures allow immediate treatment with Apiguard, Varromed ou Apilife Var and in December a dripping with Apibioxal et Oxybee.

METHOD AND ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION :
2 successive applications of 50 g of gel per colony at 2 week intervals. Maximum 2 treatments per year.
USE :
Step 1: Open the Beehive
Step 2: Open the lid of the tray, let one of the corners of the lid attached to the tray.
