1 to 5 mg of aminophylline per kg of body weight per dose, 2 daily doses spaced 12 hours apart, for 5 days:

  • Small cats and dogs (< 10 kg): 1 tablet per dose
  • Medium-sized female dogs (up to 30 kg): 2 tablets per dose
  • Large dogs (> 30 kg): 3 tablets per dose

If necessary, treatment can be continued for an additional 5 days.

Special precautions for safe use in target species

Alongside medical treatment, it is recommended to impose a diet: complete diet for one day, then water diet for 48 hours, then diet for 10 days (usual ration divided by two, supplementing with green vegetables).
We must not encourage maternalism, by caressing the breasts or letting the dog sleep with familiar objects that she considers to be puppies.
If the milk secretion has not dried up after a maximum of ten days or if it reappears, consult a veterinarian.
