The vegetal oils have many benefits in feeding horses :

1. They are an energy source : The addition of oil makes it possible to increase the energy density of a ration without increasing the food volume. In energy equivalent, 1L of vegetable oil = 3 kg ofbarley !
2. They are involved in muscle metabolism : The use of lipids (oils) in the ration makes it possible to spare glycogen stocks (source of energy in the muscle) and therefore delay the onset of fatigue during exercise.
3. They are sources of omega 3 and 6 : The omega 3 et 6 are “essential fatty acids” meaning that they cannot be synthesized by the body.

THELinseed oil ensures a regular supply of rich fatty acids en omega 3 et 6. This oil of excellent quality promotes weight gain in lean horses, helps regulate transit, and ensures a beneficial action on the fur and skin.

Linseed oil also suitable for horses during training for which it is appropriate to increase the energy density of the ration.
