The Velutina hornet trap is a highly selective trap to protect bees from predators.
Trap location
- Near the apiary
- If the internal temperature of the collector is high, the hornets cannot be caught

Benefits
Le BeeVital hornet trap is very selective. Only the hornets stay stuck! THE bugs and bees can easily come out through the small holes in the bottom or sides of the trap the bugs are never in contact with theattractive (important for the health aspect depending on the attractant). THE hornets stay alive for a while and attract other hornets with their pheromones!
When to use it
For the capture of fertilized hornet queens (founders), it must be done very early in the spring, from mid-February in temperate regions. THE trap being very selective, you can leave it in place all year round to also capture the hornet workers. In autumn, for the capture of fertilized hornet queens, starting in October in most areas.
Dose
400ml for one trap when first used. Regularly fill the tank withattractive to maintain the attractiveness of traps.

Assemble the trap following the instructions (notice).
Pour the attractant into the hole, wetting the white lines next to the holes.
During the first use, pour the attractant up to half of the container (about 400 ML). The hornets, attracted by the liquid (attractant), enter through the entrance holes at the top and move along the container. They are then captured in collection chambers. Pheromones from captured hornets will attract other hornets.
It is recommended to place the trap in hornet passages, in shaded areas, to the left and right of hives and/or hanging from a tree (place the trap on a rope between two trees or on a branch). Avoid direct sunlight.
Replenish the attractant regularly to maintain the attractiveness of the traps. Just pour a small amount of liquid into the holes with the white sticks, but make sure the container is always half full. (Especially in case of high temperatures). Empty it completely and refill it only when the attractant has degraded badly and no longer attracts hornets.
If the internal sensor temperature is high, the hornets cannot be caught. Prefer installation in shaded areas.
Be careful when removing the collection containers that hornets are not present in the bowl.
