Product Description:

Oxybee – Treatment of varroasis due to Varroa destructor – Oxalic acid & Sucrose – VETO-PHARMA

THEOxybee is a treatment for varroa allowed in theorganic farming. The treatment consists ofoxalic acid, glycerol, sucrose et essential oils (anise and eucalyptus). This association increases the mortality of varroa mites in laboratory tests. The formation of solution droplets improves the distribution of theoxalic acid (increased hygroscopy).

The use ofOxybee is recommended at the end of autumn or in winter, when the laying is finished and the bees form the winter cluster. Treatment should be used out of brood. If, however, use is essential, you must stop laying artificially by Queen's Cage (25 days before applying the treatment) or by complete removal of the brood or colony division.

Prepare the Oxybee solution well

In order to ensure a good treatment you need:

  • Open the box and write the date of opening on the bottle and the packaging
  • Mix the two sachets of sucrose in the oxalic acid solution itself immersed in a water bath in lukewarm water at 30-35° C
  • Close the bottle and shake until the sucrose powder is completely dissolved

How to use Oxybee – Veto-Pharma

  • Open the hive and remove the propolis to reach the bees
  • Shake the bottle after each use, immerse it in water at 30-35° C
  • Take a flexible plastic graduated syringe and apply the Oxybee in the interframes occupied by the bees
  • 5 to 6 ml per occupied interframe and no more than 54 ml per colony

What you must remember

  • Without the installation of the supers, and above 3° C
  • Non-brood colonies
  • One application per bee generation
  • Only for hives with vertical frames accessible from above
  • Maximum dosage of 54 ml per colony
  • Treat all colonies of the same apiary

Is the product 100% effective? No, unfortunately. It is somewhat effective at the expense of bee mortality, which is damaging. Other application products are also.
